BC Place lights up for World AIDS Day

December 1st, 2021

The Stadium's Northern Lights will glow in red on December 1

On Wednesday, BC Place will light up in red for World AIDS Day.

This year, UNAIDS has announced the theme of World AIDS Day to be: End Inequalities. End AIDS. End Pandemics.

Voices for World AIDS Day began over 15 years ago and is the largest HIV collaborative initiative in Canada marking World AIDS Day.

The campaign unites the voices of community partners across Canada to remember those we have lost to AIDS and raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.

Together, let's raise our voices to remember those we have lost to AIDS, support those living with HIV, and challenge HIV/AIDS stigma.

FULL VACCINATION REQUIRED AS OF OCTOBER 24

October 24th, 2021

Guests at BC Place required to show proof of full vaccination starting this week

UPDATE: Beginning April 8, 2022, BC Place will no longer require vaccine verification.

Guests are now required to show proof of full vaccination when attending events at BC Place, starting on October 24.

The new protocol kicks in this coming Wednesday when Vancouver Whitecaps FC play host to Minnesota United FC in a midweek matchup with massive MLS Cup Playoffs implications.

Currently in the midst of a three-game road swing, the BC Lions are back home in Vancouver on November 12 for a Friday night clash versus the Calgary Stampeders.

The 'Caps and the BC Lions each have two regular season games remaining at BC Place this year - with both home clubs in a middle of a chase for a playoff spot.

The health guideline was originally announced by the provincial government last August.

To ensure you don’t miss any of the action, please arrive 45 minutes prior to the start of the event to allow for the vaccine verification and other health and safety protocol upon entry.

Full vaccination verification

In accordance with a recent the Provincial Health Order, BC Place requires a proof of full vaccination for access to events for all guests aged 12 years and older.

BC Vaccine Card required

The official BC Vaccine Card is the only proof of vaccination accepted for people living in BC.

Guests can find information on downloading their BC Vaccine card here.

Out-of-province guests

Guests from outside BC must show officially recognized vaccine records from their province or territory. Visitors from outside Canada are required to show the proof of vaccination they used to enter Canada, as well as their passport.

Government-issued photo ID

In addition, all guests aged 19 and older will be asked to show a valid government photo ID such as driver’s license, BC Service Card, passport or photo ID from another province or territory. Guests aged 12 to 18 are not required to produce photo ID.
