Northern Lights Display - May 2020

The stadium's Northern Lights Display is recognized around the world as a landmark of Vancouver’s skyline. BC Place is honoured to be able to help bring awareness to events, charities and non-profit causes that are important to communities in British Columbia.

Here are the stadium's lighting initiatives for May:

May 1st - Grey for Brain Tumour Awareness Month

May 2nd - Lime Green for Lyme Disease Awareness Month

May 3rd - Blue for The Battle of the Atlantic Anniversary

May 4th - Yellow for Mental Health Week

May 5th - Purple for World Pulmonary Hypertension Day

May 6th - Blue for Health Care Workers and Essential Services Employees

May 7th - Red in advance of Red Cross Day on May 8th

May 8th - Teal for World Ovarian Cancer Day

May 9th - Blue and Green for Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month

May 10th - Purple for World Lupus Day

May 11th - Blue for National Nurses Week

May 12th - Blue, Purple and Green for CIND Awareness

May 13th - Green for Celiac Awareness Month

May 14th - Teal for Food Allergy Awareness Week

May 15th - Blue and Purple for Huntington Disease Awareness Month

May 16th - Blue and Green in advance of World NF Awareness Day on May 17th

May 17th - Red for World Hypertension Day

May 18th - Blue for Health Care Workers and Essential Services Employees

May 19th - Purple for World IBD Day

May 20th - Orange for Preeclampsia Awareness Month

May 21st - Rainbow for World Day for Cultural Diversity

May 22nd - Blue for Health Care Workers and Essential Services Employees

May 23rd - Blue in advance of Provincial Bereavement Day on May 24th

May 24th - Purple for National Schizophrenia Awareness Day

May 25th - Blue and Green for National Tourism Week

May 26th - Light Blue for Vision Health Month

May 27th - Yellow for Bladder Cancer Awareness Month

May 28th - Light Blue for Speech and Hearing Month

May 29th - Blue and Yellow for Skin Cancer Awareness

May 30th - Red for World MS Day

May 31st - Black and White for Ehlers-Danlos Awareness Month

In addition to these lighting initiatives, the stadium will be lighting up with a heart animation at the top of each hour (between 7pm and 11pm) for 5 minutes every night to show support for health care professionals across the province who are working tirelessly to support our communities through the COVID-19 pandemic.
