VANCOUVER, BC – British Columbians will be treated to a one-of-a-kind illumination show this February, as a special design by xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) weaver Debra Sparrow headlines the BC Place Northern Lights display schedule for the month.

Part of the Vancouver Mural Festival’s Blanketing the City: Lighting the Way project, the stadium will feature a special roof lighting show designed by the acclaimed artist from February 11 to 27, marking the first time a local Coast Salish master-weaver has used large-scale programmable lighting on building facades to share Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh designs with the city of Vancouver.

Other iconic landmarks participating in the project are Canada Place, Science World, and Bill Curtis Square in Yaletown.

In addition to the Indigenous artwork display, the Northern Lights schedule for the month features special animations for Black History Month, 2022 Canadian Winter Olympians, Valentine’s Day, and Variety the Children’s Charity Show of Hearts telethon.
