Thrilling ‘Caps 2015 season comes to a close

The Vancouver Whitecaps’ 2015 season came to an end last night, falling 2-0 to the Portland Timbers in Leg 2 of their Western Conference Semifinals. The stadium was buzzing from start to finish with a boisterous crowd of 27,873 fans - a Whitecaps FC MLS record - all dressed in white showing their support for the team. Despite the heartbreaking loss, the loyal ‘Caps fans stayed through to the end for a final cheers to the 2015 season. The ‘Caps may not be advancing to the next round of the playoffs, but the club has so much to be proud of with their best MLS season to date under their belts.
Looking back on their 2015 season, the ‘Caps recorded their highest-ever finish in MLS, coming second in the West and third overall. They ended the season with their highest-ever points total and highest-ever number of overall wins. Furthermore, they won the club’s first-ever Voyageurs Cup and competed in their first CONCACAF Champions League campaign.
