Public Interest Drives Demand for New Construction Webcam at BC Place
October 29th, 2010
PRESS RELEASE
Vancouver, BC – Due to the success of the first two construction site webcams, BC Place has launched a third webcam providing real-time construction images of the revitalization project underway at BC Place.
The first website-accessible camera provides exclusive images of the construction site from a position inside the stadium. The second webcam, positioned to the east of BC Place, has been providing external images of the project from across False Creek. The webcams have been viewed for more than 3,500 hours since the project began in May 2010.
The new camera is positioned to the west, and provides a striking new angle in which both the internal and external construction sites may be viewed, with downtown Vancouver and the North shore mountains as the backdrop.
All three cameras provide a unique insight into the construction site activity taking place at BC Place - views that would otherwise not be accessible to the public as the stadium is closed for the duration of the construction project.
Images from all three webcams may be found at www.bcplace.com, and will document the construction of the world's largest retractable roof of its kind with updated high resolution images being captured every 15 minutes.
