BC PLACE GLOWS “RED AND WHITE” TO CELEBRATE CANADA DAY

Vancouver, BC: BC Place joins all Canadians in celebrating our country’s 145th birthday this Sunday, by lighting the 36-foot tall Northern Lights Display “red and white” in the early morning hours, and in the evening on Canada Day.

About the “Northern Lights Display” at BC Place
The stadium roof façade – known as the Northern Lights Display - utilizes 1700 ‘ETFE’ panels, stacked four rows high, and 6,800 linear feet of energy-efficient LED lights to create customizable lighting displays. BC Place has utilised the entire roof to promote events (orange for BC Lions, blue for Vancouver Whitecaps FC), to create seasonal and holiday displays (like red and green at Christmas), and to generate awareness for community and charitable organizations.
