BC Place to Glow Purple for World Prematurity Awareness Day

November 16th, 2015

BC Place will glow purple this Tuesday for World Prematurity Day to help raise awareness on the serious problem of premature birth. The Canadian Premature Babies Foundation has joined forces with the European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants and the March of Dimes (US) in the Global Illumination Project.

1 in 12 babies are born prematurely in Canada and these numbers are on the rise. By lighting buildings and monuments up in the colour purple worldwide, we hope to raise the profile and increase awareness of Prematurity with the hopes of decreasing these numbers greatly.
