Ready In-Seat Ordering at BC Place has been nominated for the 2019 Venue Technology Award in TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2019.

Launched in 2010, TheStadiumBusiness Awards are the first industry awards for the stadium sector, by the stadium sector.

How It Works

The integrated Ready In Seat Ordering system combines leading-edge technology with world class service to create a seamless guest experience:

  • Each Club seat is uniquely coded to identify the guest’s location.
  • With just a quick scan of the QR code using a mobile smartphone camera (or NFC chip for NFC-enabled device), guests can view the menu, order and pay without leaving their seat.
  • The complete range of food and drink served in the Club Lounge is available to order from the mobile menu.
  • Orders are sent straight to the nearest Club Lounge kitchen where the culinary team prepares the order and delivers food & drinks right to the guest!

Results

This highly successful product innovation gives fans the power and convenience to purchase food & drinks delivered right to their seat – without downloading an App or registering for service.

The initial pilot project at BC Place tested the system in 258 seats within the Pitchside section through nine sporting events. The pilot project proved so successful, the innovation was quickly expanded to add 1,300 seats in the Premium Club section.

As a result, Ready’s Mobile In-Seat Ordering innovation has eliminated wait times for Club Section guests at BC Place, while delivering a 43% increase in the average value of orders through Ready’s Mobile In-Seat service compared orders taken at the concession.

Looking to the future, BC Place and the project team are working to expand Mobile Ordering beyond the Club section, and into new areas of the business including pick-up windows, beer delivery and a host of opportunities presented by this uniquely customer-focused innovation.
