Vancouver Whitecaps FC support food bank with limited-edition art piece
May 1st, 2020
Vancouver Whitecaps FC have released a limited-edition print by award-winning local artist, Carson Ting, with all proceeds from the sale going to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
From Vancouver Whitecaps FC:
From doctors, truck drivers and grocery store clerks, to nurses, firefighters, and supply chain workers, the courage of Vancouver’s frontline workers is seeing us through the COVID-19 crisis. It Takes a Village honours the heroes who are keeping our community safe and healthy.
Soccer’s on hold, but every night at 7 o’clock, you’ve brought the energy and spirit of BC Place into your living rooms and onto your balconies. You inspire our frontline heroes to keep going, and you inspired us to create this artwork.
All proceeds will benefit the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, who are experiencing exceptional demands due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) has been providing food support to community members in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and the North Shore since 1983. For nearly 40 years, the GVFB has been a consistent source of healthy food for those in need. 25% of our clients are children, and 22% are seniors. As we face the COVID-19 pandemic together, the GVFB wants to provide information and reassurance about the support its communities will receive from five locations in our four cities.
