BC Place lights up in advance of Red Cross Day

BC Place will light up red today in advance of Red Cross Day on Friday, May 8th.
The annual initiative celebrates the Red Cross Movement, started by Henry Dunant in 1862. Red Cross Day celebrates the core values of the Red Cross: seven fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.
Today, in Canada and around the world, there are 190 National Societies who are working to help the most vulnerable during disasters, strengthen communities’ health and preparedness, and spring into action when conflict arises.
