CONTACT brings music festival to roof of BC Place

CONTACT Winter Music Festival is taking to the stars! On Saturday, February 6th, fans of Canada’s largest indoor music festival will experience the event from a whole new level. Local artists Vanic, Tails B2B Juelz, Nostalgix, and Poni will perform for fans via Twitch from the roof of BC Place.
Produced by Blueprint, Live Nation Canada, Monstercat, and BC Place, this will be the first time any artists have performed from the 204ft iconic Vancouver rooftop. Fans worldwide will be able access the free-to-stream broadcast on Monstercat’s Twitch channel.
Specially designed CONTACT hoodies will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Merchandise is available at contact-festival.com and store.thisisblueprint.com.

Fast Facts about BC Place Stadium’s Iconic Retractable Roof
- The spectacular cable-supported retractable roof over BC Place is the largest of its kind in the world, covering approximately 11 acres in total.
- The retractable portion of the roof measures approximately 100m x 85m –covering the entire playing surface.
- The roof takes approximately 20 minutes to open or close.
- The centre of the roof is suspended more than 200 ft above the playing field below.
- The roof fabric is pound-for-pound stronger than steel.
- Built with 18,000 tonnes of steel, 35 km of cable and 76,000 square metres of fabric, the roof structure is engineered to support more than 7,000 tonnes of snow.
- Suspended from the roof is a four-sided, high-definition, centre-hung video board, as well as energy-efficient LED stadium lighting, sound systems and more.
- At night the 36-foot roof façade comes alive and transforms Vancouver’s skyline with the world famous ‘Northern Lights Display. The incredible display featuring more than 26,000 addressable LED lighting elements has been used to create the world’s largest Union Jack to welcome Paul McCartney, and more than 200 events and charitable causes every year making a positive impact in our community.
