Vancouver, BC (September 7, 2012): Live Nation Entertainment today announced that BC Place will be one of only two Canadian stops on Paul McCartney’s On the Run world tour.

McCartney will play BC Place at 8:00PM on Sunday, November 25th, and three days later in in Edmonton. The BC Place show will be McCartney’s first appearance in Vancouver since The Beatles played Empire Stadium in 1964.

“The revitalized BC Place has been built to accommodate just this kind of spectacular event, and we’re pleased that Paul McCartney has agreed to be the second major concert to be staged in our new building,” said Graham Ramsay, Director, Sales and Marketing, BC Place. “Although events this large are significant entertainment milestones, they also generate millions of dollars in direct local economic activity, which also makes BC Place an important economic catalyst for Vancouver and British Columbia.”

The first major concert at the new BC Place, Rogers Waters’ The Wall last May, generated an estimated $9.8 million in economic activity within the province. Over the course of a year, events and other bookings at the new BC Place are expected to contribute more than $100 million in annual economic impact, up from approximately $58 million per year prior to the revitalization.

Tickets for the Sunday, November 25th Paul McCartney performance at BC Place will go on sale Friday, September 14th at 10am. Visit www.livenation.com for more details.
