TEAM BC’s “WORLD CULINARY OLYMPICS” CHEFS TO SERVE SPECIAL SANDWICH AT SATURDAY’S WHITECAPS FC MATCH
Funds Raised Will Support Volunteer Chefs Representing BC at World Culinary Olympics
Vancouver, BC (April 20, 2012): BC Place and Centerplate urge all soccer fans to support Culinary Team BC, as they operate a special food concession at section 231 during this Saturday’s Whitecaps FC match against FC Dallas, at BC Place.
Culinary Team BC will be preparing a special Beef Short-Rib Sandwich on Potato Bread, with Apple-Horseradish Coleslaw. All proceeds from the sale of this special offering will go toward the team’s fundraising goal.
Supported by Centerplate at BC Place’s Executive Chef Ryan Stone, Culinary Team BC is presently preparing to compete in the ultimate chef competition – the World Culinary Olympics (Internationale Kochkunst Ausstellung or ‘IKA’) held every four years in Erfurt, Germany.
Team BC’s highly-dedicated, hardworking chefs are all volunteers. They come from across the province to represent BC as ambassadors at competitions around the world. They depend on a variety of fundraising initiatives, such as this special sandwich offering at BC Place on Saturday, to cover the cost of attending these competitions.
