BC Place to light up green for Child & Youth Mental Health Day
Vancouver, BC: BC Place will light the Northern Lights Display green on Thursday, May 7, to help raise awareness for Child & Youth Mental Health day in Canada. This national awareness day, led by the Institute of Families, seeks to help create public awareness and acknowledgement of the thousands of children, youth and families needing mental health support and care across Canada. Green signifies new life, new growth and new beginnings.
On May 7, there will be events and activities in communities in BC and across the nation using this year's theme of Sharing the Care. It is a day to connect with kids and let them know that their mental health is important. The Institute of Familities want every child to have a sense of belonging - with family, friends, teachers and communities.

About the ‘Northern Lights’ at BC Place
The stadium roof façade – known as the Northern Lights Display - uses 1700 ‘ETFE’ panels, stacked four rows high, and 6,800 linear feet of energy-efficient LED lights to create customizable lighting displays. BC Place has used the entire roof to promote specific events, create seasonal displays and raise awareness for community and charitable organizations.
