BC Place to light up the night purple for lupus

The Northern Lights display at BC Place will glow purple this Saturday, May 9th for World Lupus Day.

BC Place will be joining other downtown Vancouver landmarks Canada Place, Science World and Jack Poole Plaza in lighting up purple to help bring awareness to lupus - a chronic autoimmune disease. More than 5 million people worldwide struggle with the often debilitating health consequences of lupus which is incurable.

Times: 6am until sunrise, and Sunset to 11:00PM

About the ‘Northern Lights’ at BC Place
The stadium roof façade – known as the Northern Lights Display - uses 1700 ‘ETFE’ panels, stacked four rows high, and 6,800 linear feet of energy-efficient LED lights to create customizable lighting displays. BC Place has used the entire roof to promote specific events, create seasonal displays and raise awareness for community and charitable organizations.
