BC Place glows blue and yellow for MPS Awareness

BC Place will glow blue and yellow today in advance of MPS Awareness Day on Wednesday, May 15th.
The Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPSs) are rare genetic disorders in children and adults. They involve an abnormal storage of mucopolysaccharides, caused by the absence of a specific enzyme. Without the enzyme, the breakdown process of mucopolysaccharides is incomplete, causing progressive damage to the heart, bones, joints, respiratory system and, sometimes, central nervous system.
