Moose Hide Campaign Day highlights May Northern Lights Display schedule

VANCOUVER, BC – BC Place’s Northern Lights Display will glow in orange for Moose Hide Campaign Day on May 11, headlining the stadium’s illumination schedule for May.

Moose Hide Campaign is an Indigenous-led grassroots movement that seeks to engage men and boys in ending violence towards women and children. This campaign is marked by the wearing of a moose hide pin in the weeks leading up to May 11, when the campaign and community groups host ceremonies nationally. In addition, the stadium will be lighting for a number of community causes during the month, including for National Day of Awareness for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People on May 5, AccessAbility Week on May 29, and World MS Day on May 30. BC Place will also take part in the Canadian Heritage illumination initiative for the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, following the Vancouver Whitecaps FC match on May 6 and through the following evening.

BC Place is recognized around the world as a landmark of Vancouver’s skyline and a place of pride for all British Columbians. Besides enhancing the overall guest experience during events, the stadium’s Northern Lights Display is used to amplify important causes upon request from the community.

May 4: purple for World PH Day (May 5)
May 5: red for National Day of Awareness for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People/Red Dress Day
May 6-7: royal emerald green for the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III
May 9: teal for Food Allergy Awareness Month
May 10: purple for World Lupus Day
May 11: orange for Moose Hide Campaign Day
May 12: purple for Fibromyalgia Awareness Day
May 14: blue & yellow for International MPS Awareness Day (May 15)
May 15: blue & purple for Huntington's Disease Awareness Day
May 16: blue & green for Shine a Light on NF (May 17)
May 19: purple for World IBD Day
May 21: blue & green for Power to Be
May 24: purple for World Schizophrenia and Psychosis Awareness Day
May 25: teal for Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month
May 28: red for Menstrual Health Day
May 29: red for AccessAbility Week
May 30: red for World MS Day
