BC Place Community Weekend

Free Community Open House features opportunities to go ‘behind the scenes’ at the newly revitalized BC Place, kick a ball with Vancouver Whitecaps FC and throw a pass with the BC Lions Football Club on their home turf, experience the BC Sports Hall of Fame, and more.

Vancouver, BC (April 17, 2012): BC Place will open its doors from Noon to 4pm on Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th, for its free Community Weekend – a family-friendly open house in which the public is invited to visit the newly-revitalized stadium.

BC Place, Whitecaps FC, BC Lions and the BC Sports Hall of Fame invite everyone to get to know their new stadium at this free Community Weekend event.

Scheduled highlights include:

  • Interactive on-field activities with both home teams - the BC Lions and Whitecaps FC
  • A walk through the ’Caps and the BC Lions dressing rooms
  • The chance to stroll on the new FIFA-approved Polytan LigaTurf field
  • Standing at centrefield underneath the new retractable roof, and seeing the second largest centrehung video screens in North America – from the players’ perspective
  • Half-price admission to the BC Sports Hall of Fame
  • A visit to some of the new suites
  • A draw to win two tickets to see Roger Waters’ “The Wall” at BC Place on May 26th
